BMW Films is back after a very long hiatus, and we're thrilled -- the automaker was pretty good at this sort of thing. A total of eight short films were made back in the early 2000s with top directors helming each -- John Woo, John Frankenheimer, Tony Scott and Ang Lee, to name a few. There was also an impressive roster of guest stars including Gary Oldman, Don Cheadle, Madonna and Mickey Rourke, among others.

The relaunched series returns with Clive Owen, this time joined by Dakota Fanning, Vera Farmiga, Jon Bernthal and the 2017 BMW 5-Series. You'll remember the name of the director, Neill Blomkamp, from "Elysium," "Chappie" and "District 9," and given the plot of this new film he seems like the perfect pick.

Since this is Blomkamp directing, the action (and the shell casings) comes thick and fast; there is a plot backing the mayhem, as well.

Want to see the feature-length version? You already have and it's called "The Transporter." And yes, it's a little different. We still wish BMW would use these shorts to build publicity for a sequel to Frankenheimer's "Ronin," with Owen in the lead role. That's a two-hour BMW commercial we wouldn't mind paying to see.
