Electronic Art’s mysterious Need for Speed title mentioned during their investors call this year has been all but confirmed. Need for Speed: Most Wanted is showcased on TwitchTV’s E3 booth schedule.

According to the schedule (via IGN), the publisher will be showing off what we’re presuming to be a reboot of Need for Speed: Most Wanted, in addition to new downloadable content for Battlefield 3.

Joystiq also received the aforementioned schedule, to which they confirmed that Need for Speed: Most Wanted is indeed a game that will be displayed by TwitchTV alongside “TBA” titles from Capcom, Ubisoft and Warner Bros.

To add further credence to the listing, retailer BT Games – who have previously leaked other now-confirmed titles such as a new Dead Space and God of War – had listed Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2. Criterion’s job listing last year, meanwhile, points towards Most Wanted being an open-world racer. Additionally, a NeoGAF user shared the following details on the unannounced racer:

Burnout developer Criterion Games, who created the current-generation release of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit in 2010, are highly expected to be working on the next Need for Speed. With Most Wanted releasing on more or less every console available during its 2005 launch, it’s fitting, then, that a Criterion job listing points towards the studio developing a PlayStation Vita title (although, the reference to the handheld has now been changed to “other platforms”).
