GREER – Max Homa shot an 8-under par 63 at Thornblade Club on Sunday to capture his first professional win with a one-stroke victory in the Media Tour's BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation.

Homa, the reigning NCAA Champion out of the University of California, Berkeley, was tied for sixth after Saturday's third round, but gained ground quickly on the $650,000 tournament's final day, recording birdies on three of the first four holes.

The 23-year-old's bogey-free round left him with a 20-under par four-day total in the event, which was played on three different Upstate courses – Thornblade, Greenville Valley Country Club and The Reserve at Lake Keowee.

Homa, of Valencia, Calif., won $117,000 and became the first player to win the BMW Charity Pro-Am in his first attempt since Steve Gotsche in 1999.

Jonathan Randolph of Brandon, Miss., matched Homa's final-round 63 and finished one shot back while former Furman University standout Matt Davidson – who entered the final day as one of three co-leaders – finished four shots off the pace, tied for seventh.
